DYSPHORIA
Welcome, this is Bonni's mp3 site. I like music. I like introducing people to new music. This is my corner of the internet to ramble about music, post my favorite songs, and spread the word about my favorite bands. I also upload when I feel like it because I can, dammit.

I have never heard anyone breathe and render these three words as anguished and sweet and all at once as another set of three words, "I love you". This is wonderful, a gem I am very delighted to have discovered and very willingly sharing the beauty of this. David Ford has an astoundingly honest voice, romantically youthful and magnificently epic, that holds its own against the poignant orchestral background. Definitely an artist to follow.

i never treated you so mean
(like that's a reason to be proud)
my love i know it’s been so long
but i thought that i'd just call around
and with that smile that says
"yeah well i knew you'd wait for me"
i can hear you say the day
i fall down at your feet
go to hell
go to hell

Song: Go To Hell
Artist: David Ford
Length: 3:26 minutes
Genre: Indie, accoustic

First gaining cult devotion and attention with the consciously campy, altpunkstar-fest "Bring It (Snakes on a Plane)", the opening number off Cobra Starship's debut album boasts a deliciously danceable beat and smacks of epic DOTA-style fights. It's humourously mock-serious, and they're having a killer whale of a time at it. Patrick Stump's fingerprints are all over this, which is possibly a plus for Fall Out Boy fanboys; to his credit, the production is very clever and sleek.

This little girl, was alone in the world
Until she found a way to get it fixed for free
Oh, pretty please, it breaks my heart to see, another tragedy
She finally got her picture on TV
Come on, live it up while you can
But always in the end, no you don't get another shot
Bang bang, shoot 'em up
Yeah

Song: The City Is At War
Artist: Cobra Starship
Length: 2:51 minutes
Genre: Alternative dance, pop/punk
Album: ¡Viva La Cobra! (2006)

Hailing from Denmark, this band certainly diminishes the notion that With a refreshing song structure, The Figurines deftly craft a song out of heavenly Beachy harmonies (a great ode to the Beach Boys indeed), serene pianos and a pedal-pointed outro with borrowed "dum"s and "da-dooo"s. Very avant-garde, in my opinion, certainly innovative.

Out of the street lights
Up on the top of a hill
I was dreaming
My head just needed to chill

I'll get it together
I'll speak to you briefly
and open your mind in a cheap suit

Song: The Air We Breathe
Artist: The Figurines
Length: 3:47 minutes
Genre: Indie rock
Album: When the Deer Wore Blue (2007)

Off-kilter, drunken lilt and decidedly off-key yet deliciously shambolic song - that's the Babyshambles and frontman Pete Doherty for you. This psychedelic grungey indie-rock piece is so infectious it'll have you singing "why, oh why, oh why" along with Pete too, much as you'd love to loathe the man and his notoriously fastidious cocaine addiction.

By the way of an explanation
Cast adrift of the shores of Shotter's Nation
I had a look in, cave my skull in like a prick
Oh now what use am I to anyone?
Forlorn, frozen, beneath the summer
Don't sing along or you'll get what I've got

Here comes a delivery
Straight from the heart of my misery
So, comes a delivery
Straight from the heart to you

Song: Delivery
Artist: Babyshambles
Length: 2:37 minutes
Genre: Indie, grunge rock
Album: Delivery single (2007)
